Rachel & Charles’ intimate fairytale wedding at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

April 2, 2025

Rachel had a beautiful vision for her Disney wedding—an intimate, romantic day filled with magic, meaningful details, and cinematic storytelling. In her inquiry, she wrote:

“Your photos capture the raw, romantic moments of the day and between the couple. Your film is truly stunning, still feeling natural while also presenting a cinematic quality/experience.”

From that moment, I knew this was going to be a wedding unlike any other.

Set in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Rachel and Charles’ day was nothing short of spellbinding. With just 40 guests (some traveling as far as Australia), this wedding was a heartfelt, intimate celebration of love, family, and lifelong friendships.

Rachel and Charles’ wedding was filled with subtle yet meaningful Disney details that made their celebration feel truly magical. Their custom-designed invitations and save-the-dates, created by Rachel’s artist friends, featured beautifully personal touches inspired by their love for Disney. (I still have mine pinned on my fridge.)

Before the ceremony, Rachel shared a tearful first look with her grandparents, surprising them with a custom painting of a childhood photo. There were no dry eyes in the room!

The Grand Floridian’s ornate Victorian architecture and dreamy views of Cinderella Castle set the perfect stage for their vows, which were some of the most heartfelt and personal words I’ve ever captured.

Following their intimate reception, Rachel & Charles surprised their guests with something truly magical—a private dessert party at Epcot, complete with VIP seating for the fireworks show. To ensure we captured it cinematically, we brought in specialty lighting and multiple camera angles to showcase the couple and their guests in that once-in-a-lifetime moment.

The biggest challenge was balancing Disney’s fast pace with candid, cinematic storytelling. Disney weddings follow a strict timeline, so I approached the day with a mix of efficiency and creativity. While staying on schedule, I also wanted to ensure Rachel & Charles could fully immerse themselves in the experience, savoring every moment with the people they love most.

We took a candid approach to film and photography, allowing organic moments to unfold. One of the biggest challenges of filming at Disney is the presence of park guests. We worked carefully to focus on the couple and their loved ones, ensuring that every shot felt personal and uninterrupted.

Rachel & Charles’ wedding was a love story filled with intention, sentiment, and wonder. Every time I read their words, I’m reminded why I do what I do:

“From the first moment I met Jo, I knew we were making the right decision for our wedding photography and videography.

She immediately made us feel at home, giving us space to be our most authentic selves in front of the camera. The kindness and patience Jo exhibited throughout our wedding day did not go unnoticed. Our family and friends continue to compliment the way she captured every heartfelt moment so effortlessly.

Jo was nothing but a dream to work with, and we cannot wait to see the magic she creates in other people’s lives.”
