There are many benefits to digital photography, especially when it comes to wedding photography. Most significantly, the immediate results and faster shutter speed means that photographers can adjust settings in real time to capture the perfect image in a variety of environments.
In Catholic wedding photography, photographers must be able to adjust their camera settings for every venue from brightly-lit cathedrals to dark evening reception halls. Digital photography gives photographers that ability.

Our favorite thing about catholic wedding photography shot with film is the limited number of shots and the time it takes for film to develop. A film roll with 36 shots on it forces photographers to be more intentional about the pictures they take. Lastly, the wait for a roll of film to develop feels like the night before Christmas morning. Delayed gratification makes the final products that much more beautiful and rewarding. We aren’t surprised that more and more couples ask for film Catholic wedding photography.

Types of Catholic Wedding Photography Equipment
Typically, Four Loves Photo and Film captures weddings with a Minolta XG1, Canon AE1, and a Canon Rebel G. Upgraded packages can include film photography, which we typically shoot with Ilford 400 and Ilford 3200 Black & White and Portra 400 and Portra 800 film stocks. Couples who opt to add film photography to their package receive four rolls of film images. This translates to about 144 images showcasing intentional moments throughout the wedding day.
